Message Received

Your note is with the editorial desk. Nothing here was set up as any kind of transaction, because this site only publishes reviews, schedules and reference writing about amateur basketball and regional sports leagues.

Fixture notes and corrections land on the same desk as league reviews. Every incoming message is read by a person, not filed away.

What happens next

A member of the desk reads every incoming message and then checks any fixture or league detail against the relevant association or league posting. That verification step is why a correction might not appear immediately — a date, a venue name or a division listing only changes once the administering source agrees with it.

If what you sent can be confirmed, the article or schedule summary is updated. If it cannot, we may reply asking for a source: the association notice, a league contact, or the page where the detail appeared.

  1. Read The message is opened and sorted by type: correction, story suggestion or question.
  2. Check Any fixture or league detail is compared with the administering body's posting or the league's own contact.
  3. Update Confirmed details are edited into the article or the schedule summary next to it.
  4. Reply If a source is missing, we write back and ask — usually within a few working days.

If you sent a correction

Corrections take priority over other messages, since a wrong fixture date is the error most likely to send someone to the wrong venue. We check the detail against the administering body and edit only if it holds up.

Substantive changes are noted on the article rather than made silently, so the record shows what changed and when. If a correction affects community sports fixtures across several posts, we update each schedule summary that carries the same detail.

If you sent a story suggestion

Suggestions are logged and reviewed when we plan new coverage. A short note on why a league or school programme matters locally helps more than a link on its own.

We get more suggestions than we can write, so a suggestion that is not taken up is not a judgement on the idea. Something may sit in the notes for a season before a slot opens, especially where a regional sports league only becomes interesting once its standings tighten.

You won't always hear back about a suggestion that isn't taken up. If you want a rough sense of what tends to get picked up, our amateur league reviews and school and street basketball features show the kind of ground we cover, and the editorial standards page explains how pages are sourced and credited.

If you asked a question

Questions about leagues, fixtures or how the site works get answered where we can, though replies take a few days outside busy periods.

Where a league detail gets checked
Against the association or league that runs it. If you already know which body administers the league, say so in the message and it saves a step.
Registration, league entry or club disputes
The right place to ask is the administering body, not the desk here. We can't act on those requests and won't forward them anywhere.
Reply times
A few working days is normal. If a fixture change is happening within days, say so in the subject line and the desk looks at it first.

What happens to the details you send

A short, plain answer to the question most people want confirmed before they write in. If any of these change, they change on the editorial standards page, not quietly here.

No contact details published

We won't publish your contact details without asking first. A message can be confirmed and the article updated without your name appearing anywhere on the page.

No passing on for marketing

We won't pass your message to a third party for marketing. This is a publication, and the only thing it puts out is the writing itself.

A tip is not a fact

We won't treat a tip as confirmed fact on its own. Editorial standards apply to everything that arrives through the contact page, however senior the sender.

Sending another message

If you've remembered additional detail, send it in a new message and mention the earlier one. Don't resend the same tip repeatedly, as duplicates slow down the same queue everyone else is waiting in.

For anything urgent, such as a fixture change happening within days, say so clearly in the subject line and the desk will look at it first. If it's a question about a rural regional sports league you follow, or the amateur sports updates you want to see covered, the same contact page handles both.

Desk hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM JST. The desk reads during the week; weekend fixture notes are answered at the start of the next working day.

While the note waits in the queue

Nothing more is needed from you right now. If you want to read how pages are sourced, corrected and credited before you check back, the editorial standards page sets that out in full.
